FTC & Website Disclaimers: MarketingCrazy Minute Webisode #6 – Online Honesty and Website Transparency
In this webisode of MarketingCrazy Minute, Evan gets marketing crazy and breaks down the importance of honesty, disclaimers, and transparency on websites and online businesses.
It’s sweeping the Internet…
The FTC, The Federal Trade Commission, has just come down somewhat hard on bloggers and other web-users across the nation. By strengthening their rules and regulations of disclaimer language and transparency, the FTC’s ruling will effect the way that online business owners sell and review products (especially when products are making profits).
Also effected by the FTC’s decision are testimonials and reviews. These must now be representative and indicative of the common response among customers/reviewers. Say goodbye to using your best and most crazy customer review, now it’s gotta be a fair representation of your overall customer rating.
Check out the FTC’s main website to see whether or not you’re in compliance with the new regulations.
